I was kindly invited by the Nixon family to go to their holiday home for the weekend in Puerto Peñalisa. Puerto Peñalisa is about 120 km from Bogota but traffic makes the journey somewhat longer. It is a beautiful complex of many houses in lush tropical gardens and includes several communal facilities. These include a full golf course, a large lake for water skiing and wake boarding. an inviting children’s playground in a paddle pool, a club house with a big swimming pool atop a hill with beautiful views and many parkland areas. The weather is very hot and the whole place reminded me of Nepal Park in Singapore, as there are many white bungalows with swimming pools in the back yard and the vegetation is similar.
We had a lovely relaxing weekend and I worked on the music report for the Anglo Colombiano School while relaxing outside around the pool. The Nixon family are wonderful and the eldest, Kathleen, is currently at UWCSEA East campus on exchange in the FIB class. The family has two gorgeous 4 year old twins and Nicky who is a great character with a quick wit and a great sense of humour.
Carolina and Bill were wonderful hosts and below is the slideshow I made for them as a thank you.
wow, now that is the kind of sabbatical I’m talking about with jet skis, pools, golf cart and beautiful lake and views. I could rough it there.
very nice video and music Karen, enjoyed it,
many thanks- and you are?
Certainly a wonderful weekend. Keep up the hard work!
